Moth and Bonelight

"I am amazed by the delicate rendering of the highlights and shadow areas in these platinum prints. They are
truly unique and exquisitely beautiful. I love the way they look and I plan to frame a few for our home."

- Jerry Uelsmann

21ST Editions is pleased to announce the Platinum Edition of Moth and Bonelight , a portfolio of 10 platinum
prints by Jerry Uelsmann with 20 poems by Steven Brown.

The platinum printing process was at its beginning in 1873 a rare and difficult one to master. It is even rarer
today. Printing in platinum produces the most permanent of photographic prints--one that possesses the richest,
most extensive, and most subtle tonal range within photography. During World War I when the cost of platinum
and consequently platinum papers dramatically rose, some master photographers abandoned photography
rather than resort to other processes. Today the making of a platinum print is even more expensive, but the
beauty of the result merits the time and difficulty required to produce it.
